The boxes are filling...

With only a month left before we leave Japan, we are starting to get things in order (or out of order and into boxes) and prepare for a year without a home. It's not as easy as it sounds!

In the midst of all the packing, I took a trip to Hiroshima with Pastor Kishimoto and Pastor Ohara for the dedication of a new missionary, Pastor Shibayama to Cambodia. It's exciting to see the results of years of ministry by both American missionaries and Japanese pastors as young Japanese are sent out to begin new churches. There are however, far too few young pastors and far too many aging ones. One third of the current churches in Japan are expected to be without a pastor in the next 15 years.

Our family page has new pictures of the kids and the ministry page has our updated schedule. See you soon!

Packing begins...

February is here and the packing is underway! We have purchased our tickets for March 20th so we have a cutoff date, now we just need to get everything done!

We have almost finished our schedule in the midwest from April to December, I still need to finish out schedule for churches in Alabama. It is shaping up to be a busy year. In June and July we are only home a total of 2 weeks. (Using the word home loosely here, we won't be home until we return to Japan next year!)

On the homefront, everyone has stuggled with a cold recently. It passed through the kids and to Susan and finally to me. Everyone was really crabby for about a week! Now that the colds are gone it has gotten really cold, we even had snow yesterday and today.Melodie is really growing, she can almost sit up by herself. Cameron had a shot this week and didn't even cry (as I was informed as soon as he walked in the door).
