Campus Baptist Church - Finally!
We have made it to Campus on a Sunday, at last! It has seemed like we have been in every church except our own for so long. This week is the missions conference so we have several days to spend with our friends and Campus Baptist family.
Chloe has learned to ride her bike in the last week. She still has a problem starting on level ground but as long as there is a hill she really takes off. She has had a couple of crashes but no broken bones...yet.
We are off to KS next week and then back to WI to finish up our traveling in the midwest. We are praying that we will be able to return to Japan in February after a last missions conference in AL.
Time flies...
Wow, this year is really flying by! I had hoped to be able to keep up with email and keeping out website updated but sporadic internet access and constant travel have made it much more difficult than I imagined. We are a few days into another three week trip starting in WI, taking us through IA and into KS before returning to WI. On our way to Ames on Monday, our van broke down for the first time in almost 20,000 miles of travel this year. However, God provides and we were loaned a van by a member one of our supporting churches in the area. So, I was able to get Susan and the kids (and Keiko) settled in Ames and I will return for the van tomorrow. No boredom in the Smith family!
October and November is mission's conference time in the midwest. We have a mission's conference scheduled every week in October and a couple in November as well. As 2007 winds to a close we are praying about returning to Japan in February. I for one and ready to go and excited about returning to our "normal" life!
We are starting to get some interest in GRIT 2008. I have applications for 6-7 people and I'm starting to get ready for another marathon summer of intense discipleship. We are hoping to have 10-12 people for GRIT and another 1-2 yearlong interns with us in the next year. Let us know if you are interested!
