Thanksgiving!
It's almost Thanksgiving so many of our thoughts are turned to all that God has done for us in the past year. We have enjoyed our time in the USA on furlough and are looking forward to spending some time during the holidays with family and friends. However, at the back of our minds we are beginning to have more and more thoughts of Japan. We still have many details to take care of before we are settled into our new place of ministry in Japan. God is faithful.
We are also starting to plan and prepare for GRIT 2008. As of this writing there are 11 applicants who are planning to be with us next summer! Yikes! We have alot to do before they arrive! I am looking forward to the opportunity to encourage them and challenge them for greater service in the future. Keep us all in your prayers.
Hello Kansas!
We are in KS for a missions conference at Grace Baptist Church in Altamont. We have been enjoying our time with the church here even though Cameron has been running a fever and been stuck at home. He is feeling better today and should be able to go church for the first time tonight.
We leave on Wednesday headed for Wisconsin! Yea! That means our furlough is winding down as we look to finish up our time in the midwest in December. As we approach the years end we are getting excited about returning to Japan and are looking forward to finding a place to live and settling down in Kikuyo. Join us in praying that God will be preparing hearts in Kikuyo as well as preparing our hearts to serve.
For now, we have a long drive ahead of us Wed, and Thurs.!
Website updates...
Well, I finally updated our family page and our fall schedule on the ministry page. It's about time!
We finish up the missions conference at Campus Baptist tonight. It has been a great week! We have really enjoyed visiting with our church family. It has been a little difficult because of sickness in the family but we are almost over that too.
We are planning to try to fit all of our "stuff" into the van on Thursday in preparation for leaving for KS on Friday. Yeah. More traveling.
As the year draws to a close, we are getting more excited about returning to Japan in the spring. There are quite a few people already signed up for GRIT 2008. Now we have to get there and get busy preparing for them!
