Merry Christmas!
We have been enjoying the time with my family in Alabama this Christmas. We will be here until February 15 when we fly out of Birmingham to Dallas, then to Narita (in Tokyo) and on to Fukuoka where we will take a train to Izumi, then someone will pick us up and drive us to Nagashima where Susan and the kids will stay while I look for a house in Kikuyo! If that sounds tiring, it is! But I can't wait to get started!
However, in the meantime we will be reporting to 4-5 churches in AL before then including a missions conference on Feb 10-13. Keep us in your prayers as we finish up the year and get back to Japan.
Preparing for Japan...
Well, we are in the process of purchasing tickets to return to Japan. Our leaving date will probably be February 15, unless we have problems with the tickets. There is still a lot to do in the coming months but we are looking forward to getting back to Japan!
In the meantime, we have one more scheduled meeting before we have some time off to spend with family until after the new year. Yea! Time off! That is the only difficult thing about returning to Japan. It is hard for our families to say goodbye, mostly to the kids... but they do change more than we do in four years.
We are getting together some homeschool material for Chloe and Cameron, ready to start once we get settled. Chloe is really taking off with her reading, particularly considering how little time has actually been spent with her on it. I can't wait till she can read to the other two!
Cold and Snowy in WI...
We are snowed in a hotel in WI at the moment, hoping the weather allows us to get to church in the morning. Cameron likes walking in the snow, he said, "its like mashed potatoes!" Daddy is less thrilled driving the rear wheel drive van on the slick stuff. We only have two more Sundays in WI and then we can head south, YEA!!!
We are hoping to get financial clearance to return to Japan soon so that we can buy plane tickets. We are really starting to look forward to getting back to Japan. We will have to find a place to live and get ready for GRIT 2008. I have received 12 applications and am starting to get nervous about getting ready for them before they arrive in May of next year. Keep us all in your prayers.
