Cold in Kumamoto...

We are busily planning and inviting people to our Christmas party planned for December 22. I am getting a better response than expected because we found something that the guys are interested in! Mr. Inoue is a former member of the Japanese mafia, yakuza, and is going to be giving his testimony. Our flyer is different than most Christmas flyers due to the photo of a tattoo covered mafia photo, and that is exactly why several of the men I have been talking with want to come! They skipped right over the section about family and Christmas and asked about Mr. Inoue. At the moment we are anticipating around 25 total in attendance with about half being kids. Most of those coming do not know the real meaning of Christmas, we are looking forward to continuing conversations with them about the birth, life and death of Jesus and His love for them. Thanks for praying for us!

In related news, I try to hang out at one of the RC car tracks in the area at least once a week (there are 4 within 30 minutes of our house). Saturday night I won my first race ever! Of course I should qualify that by saying that it was the Freshman class and the rule is that if you win twice you have to move up to the next class so gradually all the good drivers are taken out. Last night was the last race of the year so pretty much there were five of us mediocre guys left. But it was a fun race with lots of crashes and of the five guys in it 2 are hoping to come to the Christmas party if they get off work in time. Now that is cool.
