Moving day approaches...again...
It seems as if we are always moving! We will receive the keys to our house on March 5th and will move ASAP after that. We are looking forward to settling down in our new location and getting to know our neighbors, find the grocery store, etc, etc.
Keep us in your prayers as we have alot of adjustments to make in the coming months. We also can't be too distracted from getting ready for GRIT this summer, it is only three months until everyone arrives! I am borrowing a computer so until next time...
We're Back!!!
We made it safely through the 27 hour trip back to Japan in one piece and are trying to recover from jet lag this week. I suffered through a day of looking at houses in Kikuyo on Monday and God really blessed, the first house we looked at is the one we will be moving into sometime in the next two weeks! In almost every way the house is more than we hoped for and will be a great base for ministry in Kikuyo. Thanks for your prayers!
I hope to have the the internet up and running at our home within a week or two of getting moved. More updates and pictures to come once that happens. Now the real fun of getting settled in and meeting new people while getting ready for GRIT 2008!
Furlough ends with a bang!
We finish our first furlough and return to Japan next week, Feb 15th! In the meantime, we still have a few things to do... There is still a bit of packing and getting things shipped to Japan, but that is almost completed. The big thing on our schedule is a missions conference starting Sunday Feb 10th and running through the 13th. That will leave us a whole day (assuming we make it home before midnight on the 13th) to get our final packing finished and get ready to hop on a plane for Japan bright and early on the 15th! No Problem! (ducks as Susan swings for head with big stick)
We have tried to visit family members in the past few weeks. It is hard to say goodbye to my grandparents. They are all sure that they will not live to see us again. One of the few things that I feel is a real sacrifice is the fact that my children are growing up without knowing most of their family very well.
I am hoping that we have internet access over the next few weeks as we return to Japan and look for a house but I am not overly optimistic that it will be any more regular than I have now. Driving 40 min to check email is not my idea of fun. I will update as often as possible and will update the website as soon as we are settled.
Until next time...
