G.R.I.T. = God's Recruits In Training.
In designing the GRIT program we had several ideas in mind.
First and foremost is ministry. A primary goal of GRIT is to help and encourage
the national churches and pastors as well as the missionaries serving in the South
Kyushu area make an impact for Christ. This is done through music, drama,
tract distribution, and good old fashioned hard work! We make ourselves
available to do whatever is asked of us, all for the glory of God.
A second focus is practical ministry training. Everyone has opportunities to use
the talents that God had given them and be challenged in new directions as well.
There are weekly devotions as well as an English worship service led by GRIT
participants. Our goal is to work with each person and help them reach their full
potential for service.
Our third major focus is physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth of all
participants. These goals are accomplished through exercise, ministry, teaching, and
weekly challenges.
We also desire to give everyone a good working knowledge of life and ministry on
the mission field. Each of us - pastor, missionary, Sunday school teacher, or
student - should be aware of our part in fulfilling the Great Commission. The more
we understand, the better we are able to pray and share the needs with others.
We are also praying that God will burden more workers for the harvest! There is
much to be done and time is short. Join us!
