GRIT 2008 ran from May 18 until July 13. Pastor Lee Abuhl from Campus Baptist came along with his wife, Violet, and daughter, Larissa. The 2008 group really worked hard and left a good impression everywhere that we went. Highlights of the summer included the trip to Kumamoto University, Kumamoto Castle, climbing Mt. Kaimon, first time preaching for many of the guys and a chance for several girls to lead an evangelistic Bible study.

The 2008 GRIT team!

Everyone got in on the "act" and had fun.

Some of the best times were getting to know the Japanese people

There were some interesting cultural lessons too!

The trip to Kumamoto University was very interesting but challenging to be ready for reaching out constantly.

The guys went for a few extra hikes during the men's retreat.

We had an opportunity to do several children's outreaches during the summer.

Kumamoto castle is an awesome experience.

Some of the best times were just hanging out and learning about being a disciple with friends.

Some of the teamwork challenges were more challenging than others!

Nothing beats the feeling of working hard and finishing well.
